Melisa, the Future Doctor and Musician

Pegasus Student Voice is a student-led online magazine that encourages students to express their opinion on matters that concern them. Our team has decided to dedicated this edition to introducing ourselves to our readers. I had the pleasure to interview Melisa, a student at Pegasus ELS, and also a young journalist at Pegasus Student Voice.

She is fourteen years old and in the ninth grade. When being asked her favorite subject she said ‘’The subject that I’m interested in is Biology because I love learning about animals and plants”. As a career path she has a dream to become a doctor, more specifically a surgeon. Being a medical student myself, I must say that is a very good and interesting career choice.

But it seems that becoming a doctor isn’t her only dream that she hopes to accomplish. When she was asked if she had any talents/hobbies she responded with ‘’My special talent and my hobby is playing the piano. I started playing the piano 5 years ago, when I was 9 years old”. Since she stated that she has a love for animals she was asked if she had any pets and she replied with ‘’I don’t have any pets but I really want to buy a dog because dogs are my favorite animals”.

When asked why she chose to become a journalist for Pegasus Student Voice she stated ‘’I chose to become a journalist because I can express my feelings while I’m writing something and I can tell people my ideas”. Since she joined, she has written about two articles, but I’m sure as time goes on that number will grow dramatically. On this topic she said “I wrote 2 articles. My favorite article is Shows and Movies.
