A Guide To A Non-boring Summer

A Guide to a Non-boring Summer

We all know summer is a great time for sunbathing on the beach and sipping cold drinks by the pool. However, for me and most kids my age, that barely makes two weeks of the summer. The rest are just agonizingly hot days and simply laying around all day. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. There are tons of things that you can do with your newfound free time. I’m going to tell you about my favorite ones today!

Start journaling

Keeping a journal is a great way to keep track of your summer. So, buy a notebook and some markers and start journaling! You can fill your journal with fun experiences or doodles of fun things you see daily. You can even add pictures of you and your friends to look back on during gloomier times of the year. Personally, I also dry flowers and keep them in my journal. They always bring back unique memories. I even have daisies I kept from my vacation abroad last year.

Work out

Seems boring, I know, but hear me out! Working out doesn’t have to be boring, bland, or tiring. It’s good to go on a weekly hike with friends on a nearby hill or bike to the closest village. After all, we’ve all got to stay in shape for when those beach days finally come.

Board games

It’s extremely hot outside and extremely boring inside, so you invite your friends over to be extremely hot and bored together, and you have no idea what to do. Sounds familiar? So, find that Monopoly set shoved in some closet and have fun unleashing that competitive spirit with your friends.

Take Walks

Even though we can all agree spending time with your friends at malls and cafes is fun, it can quickly become expensive and bland. So, turn to nature, there is nothing more fun than days spent on grass and walks with vivid scenery to your side. I find that no matter how many times you visit one place, it always turns out to be a completely new experience, one that sticks with you for very long.

Make a time capsule!

We’ve all seen time capsules on TV, so this is your sign to do it. All you need is an empty box and the rest is up to you. You can store all kinds of items inside, such as photos, newspapers, letters, pictures, and more. It would also be fun to write a letter to your future self or list things you want to do by the time you open the capsule. You can bury the capsule in your yard or leave it somewhere you know you’ll forget about it.

So, what are you planning to do this summer?
