Teen Hair Trends in Our City
Being a teenager in modern times means being very creative, trying new things, starting to change almost everything about oneself, creating different dreams, trying to appear grown-up, leaving behind many habits from the past, and changing more and more every day. Something that truly reflects through the eyes of all family members and relatives who have known us for a long time is our style of dressing and appearance. Since our bodies develop a lot during these years, we start to feel grown-up, and some others already consider us as such.
In this article, I will not focus on presenting clothing but will talk about the hairstyles that girls aged 10-18 in our city have, based on a brief interview I conducted on this subject. So, I decided to visit a hairstylist, “Art-hair,” located in our city. There, I had the honor of speaking with the owner, who told me about her business, when she opened it, what she works with, and we delved deeper into the topic of my peers aged 10-18.
Some girls also request a “sunkissed” treatment, which makes the hair look like it has been naturally lightened by the sun during the summer. This treatment has become quite popular recently and is favored by teenagers. ArtHair studio also uses a variety of products for different treatments, as well as shampoos for keratin, coloring, and other purposes. They provide these products as prescriptions to clients to achieve more effective results and ensure longer-lasting maintenance.
The shop opened on September 3, 2017. ArtHair offers a variety of services such as haircuts, coloring, different styles requested by clients, keratin treatments (for straightening hair), masks and treatments for healthier hair, promoting new hair growth, and much more. The clients are female, ranging in age from young children to elderly ladies.
During our conversation, I was told that my peers do not visit this studio very often; they are more infrequent and usually prefer to cut and style their hair at home. The majority seek different haircut styles, mostly trends seen on the internet. Another percentage undergoes keratin treatments (a hair straightening process that lasts 4-6 months, making the hair look straight as if using a flat iron). Very few of my peers go for hair coloring, as it is not preferred due to its damaging effects on young hair.
