Gaming: More Than Just Fun
Gaming is more than having fun, even though many older people, like my parents or teachers, think it is a waste of time. As a 15-year-old student, I think gaming can actually help other people to learn useful things.
First, I think it improves quick thinking, patience and problem solving skills. In most online games, you have to plan your attack, make your decision, and stick with it but if you fail, you try again. So gaming also teaches us to be decisive and to never give up. Gaming also helps with focus and reaction time because you need to pay attention in online shooter games all the time.
Another important thing that gaming teaches us is teamwork. In online multiplayer games you need to learn how to communicate and work together, just like in real life. Gaming can also teach us or make us improve a language. Personally, I think my English improved by gaming since most games are in english and i learned new words while playing.
Finally , some games like minecraft help you be creative by building or designing things. And I think my generation lacks the creativity that the past generations have had. So in other words they should start gaming more, but not too much. If you could balance your gaming it could be more educational.
In conclusion, gaming is not just entertainment or a “waste of time”, but it can help us learn new stuff and help us with everyday tasks.
