Gen Z’s Take On AI Taking Over

Gen Z’s Take On AI Taking Over

Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, is something we use all the time. The question many people have right now is: ”is it harmful?”. Well lucky for you, I’m here to answer your questions. I first heard about AI when I saw a robot in a video solving a puzzle in seconds.

At first, I thought it must be a trick, but then I learned that AI is like teaching a computer to learn from patterns. It studies loads of information and figures out how to answer questions or make decisions all on its own. It doesn’t know everything. It only knows what’s on the web using pattern recognition.

Every day I use AI without even realising it. When I ask my phone to play a song or to tell me the weather it uses AI to understand my voice. Streaming apps use AI to suggest new music or shows based on what I have already watched. It is kind of cool to wake up and see a playlist that feels like it was made just for me. Even video games use AI to make the characters seem smarter so they give a fun challenge. Some people, though, seem to think that AI is evil and want to distance themselves from it. But why should you? They say that it takes away our creativity. But I see it this way: If it helps people with their tasks that are demanding and boring, and it finishes them quickly, then the people have more time to be creative.

At school AI helps me, too. I can ask a chatbot to explain tricky maths problems or to help me draft an essay. It is like having a tutor who is always available. Some language apps use AI to correct my pronunciation and grammar when I practise speaking in English and French. It is fun to get instant feedback on my mistakes and try again until I get it right.

Thinking about the future makes me really excited. I imagine self-driving cars that use AI to keep us safe on the road. Tesla is already trying to achieve that. I picture robots that help doctors in hospitals by checking patient data faster than humans can. Maybe one day I will study AI and create a game that feels as real as a dream or build a friendly robot to help people with chores.

AI is growing every day and it already makes my life easier and more fun. As a teen I want to learn how to code and build my own AI projects. Who knows what amazing things we could make when we grow up? For now I will keep exploring AI tools and dreaming about the wonders to come.
