Art As The Language Of The Young Generation

Art as the Language of the Young Generation

Art is not just a pastime for today’s youth, it is a way of communicating  feelings, ideas and the need to make changes in society. Art has also been a way of empowering  the youth and allowing them to express themselves in the current society. Through creativity youth define themselves and speak about that which concerns them.

The present world has challenges that affect the youth greatly, including climate  change, inequality, and social justice. It has thus become a way through which they can express themselves  on these and other issues. Their creativity shows their concern for change and they use colors, language and  shapes to send out messages that call for action as well as consciousness.

Technology has changed the way the youth express themselves and their art. Besides the conventional ones like painting and sculpting, digital  art, animation, and multimedia works are becoming popular. Social media sites including YouTube, Instagram, and  TikTok also allow young artists to display their work and get a global following. These platforms have made young  creators to become cultural gatekeepers where the consumption and production of art has been revolutionized.

When a lot of people are stressed and there are a lot of demands from society, art is an  area where young people can escape to and get some emotional healing. Art is a way for them to  deal with their emotions and to express themselves in a rather personal and concrete manner. For many people, art is a way of dealing with problems and a way of creating a positive attitude in life.  Art is not just a form of expression, but it is the voice of young people who feel so rarely heard, and a force for change in today’s world. Supporting young artists is not only about appreciating their creativity but also recognizing their vital role in shaping a more empathetic and just future.
