Gaming Might Be Dying

Gaming isn’t that popular as it was. Games aren’t played as much. The most viewed streamers and youtubers aren’t filming gaming. But why is that?

Gaming was way more popular the last few years mostly because YouTube was the most popular platform and the way to get views back then was by playing video games. Youtubers had a big impact on their audience and whatever a bigger content creator played they would play. But, that obviously isn’t the biggest case of why gaming isn’t played as much. Another factor of why it is so is that over the years we haven’t seen a game that was a “banger”, that everybody played. I am not talking about games that peaked way after they were created. We have also seen big games lose players over time. Over the last few years big games have been losing ist’s player count, like Fortnite.They now have an average player count of 2,3 million users, which is nothing compared to 6 years ago they had around 15 – 20 million users. This also counts for games like Minecraft, Dota, LOL, CSGO, GTA5.

I talked about PC games, now I will talk about mobile games. I know a lot of the games that I mentioned you can also play on your phone, I will talk about the games that you can only play on your phone. The biggest and best mobile games are the ones that were made by Supercell (Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, Clash of Clans). These games are the first that come to mind when we think of mobile games. Brawl Stars is the one that had a big rise at the start of the year till the end of the summer. It had the biggest player count compared to any game and that’s because of great updates. Thisgoes to show that although mobile gaming isn’t that popular it still has great moments like these.

Weilst games like Fifa, NBA2k and other sports games are consistеnt with their player base beacausе of the players’ love for the sport.

You can probably tell by the picture above that I will be talking about the updates. Updates can make the game better or worse. And it’s quite the reason why the game loses popularity and its player base. Most of the time the reason for a bad update is the fact of not making it harder, adding stuff that the players don’t like or not making them at all. That’s also why games are getting boring to play.

We looked at all the reasons why gaming might be dying. Or is it? The truth is younger kids still play video games and like that will be for many many years. One generation is going to be playing games then the other generation excetera excetera. But, my generation is definitely not gaming as it used  to.
