Should Footballers Have Less Matches?
How many matches do footballers have per season? Is it too much? Is it too little? Should footballers have less matches? This question has just risen up with time passing. Athletes have more and more matches every single season. Especially in team sports like football, they have around 70 matches a season. So what should they do? Let’s cover all the possible solutions on how to stop it, and the pros and cons that come with it.
There have been a lot of injuries at the start of this season and in particular ACL injuries that ends a player’s season. ACL injuries are over stretch or tear the anterior cruciate minjury. This season also had the EURO’s and the Copa America, which added to the games played. In a famous interview, one of the best players on the planet, Rodri, was asked. “Should players have less games?” to which he answered “ That from his experience 70 games are too much and that maybe that they should play around 40-50 games a season. After that interview he tore his ACL. But its not only that they play a lot of games, they also travel a lot to foreign countries that adds another layer of difficulty.
I covered all the cons, so now let’s talk about the pros. Fans get more excitement every weekend and midweek. The players generate more revenue. The traveling that they do can also be fun and they get to see new places. But, the most important part is that they do what they want.

In my opinion, that’s their job and they get paid a lot of money. And they get a lot of treatment and care over their body, and overall live a healthy life.
