The Hidden Talent of Luka – the Great Accordion Player
Hey everyone. As you may already know, the young journalists at Pegasus Student Voice would like to take the opportunity to introduce themselves to you with this issue.
Therefore, it is my pleasure to introduce you to a great guy named Luka Paunovski. He is 14 years old and currently a 9th grade student at “Andreja Saveski Kjikjish” in Tetovo. He is also a student at Pegasus ELS, and a young journalist at our online magazine – Pegasus Student Voice.
He is such an active person, when I asked about his hobbies, he said that he loved to play computer games most of the time, but I believe we have discovered a great talent of his here, something we didn’t know before, because believe it or not, Luka plays the accordion.
He started playing it when he was in the 4th grade, actually when he was 9 years old. He plays it pretty well now. “The accordion is a heavy instrument and tough to master but once you get the hang of it it’s easy to play”, Luka describes with enthusiasm, adding “it has 2 sides, the piano and the bass, the easier of which is the bass. You can play all sorts of music on it ranging from classical to folk”. He is not a fan of school projects and he has only participated in the student parliament at his school.
Career-wise he said that he sees himself as a sort of businessman. Whether he creates his own business or be employed in one. However, he also likes journalism and he told us about his beginnings with Pegasus Student Voice: “First, when I heard about the “Pegasus Student Voice” magazine, I thought it would be fun and decided to give it a try, and it didn’t get disappointed. I think that Pegasus Student Voice is a great group of hard-working students and it’s good for other students in general since you can greatly improve your English language skills by writing articles. I have been with it since it was created, so I’m nearing 1 year”, he spoke with visible enthusiasm.
Luka says that the advantages of being part of this magazine are many, but he definitely things that it helps him improve his vocabulary and writing skills, as well as the ability to inform and entertain through text.
I asked him to single out one of his articles and he told us that he likes his 2nd most recent article which was about the UEFA Champions League top scorers this season.
Luka’s very beautiful message to his peers is: “Work hard and carry on!”
