Rocket League: The Perfect Mix of Fun and Chaos

Rocket league is a car football game that was published by the company Psyonix in 2015. It’s a multiplayer game where the players play as rocket powered vehicles to score goals into the opponent’s net over the course of a 5-minute match. It has an eight-rank system where, depending on how well you play, you get either promoted or demoted.

Your rank helps decide the type of opponents you come up against, who are usually around your skill level. It has several game modes that are not football like basketball, rumble, snow day and similar.

The short match and the small field combine to create a thrilling experience for the player, who can play with their friends and talk over the game or another third-party app, like Discord. Speaking from experience, it is very fun but at the same time frustrating and challenging, which pushes you to go further up the ranks and get better, which is why it is my favorite video game. I’ve had a few nights where I’ve been on a big losing streak and getting angry because of it, or the opposite.

It’s also an eSport for those who want to either watch competitive rocket league or who have hopes to play competitively someday. For those who want to win tournaments, they’re also in the game and you get rewards based on your rank. With those rewards you can purchase drops which contain cosmetics so you can customize your vehicle. One of these cosmetics is the antenna, and the game offers every country’s flag as an antenna all for free, so you can rock your country’s flag and show everyone where you’re from. For the fans of video games, but also football, this game is for you. It doesn’t demand very high PC specs and it is also free on the Epic games Store.
