FIFA World Cup

The FIFA World Cup is an international association football competition contested by the Senior men’s national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

The championship has been awarded every four years since 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not held because of the Second World War.

The current champions are France 🇫🇷, who won their second title at the 2018 tournament in Russia.

The format involves a qualification phase, which takes place over the preceding three years, to determine which teams qualify for the tournament. The host nations automatically qualify, and the total teams that compete for the title are 32.

The World Cup is the most prestigious association football tournament in the world, as well as the most widely viewed and followed single sporting event in the world.

The 2022 World Cup is being held in Qatar, the first Arab country to host it.

Because of its high temperatures it’s being held in November and December.

The opening ceremony took place at Al Bayt Stadium in front of 60,000 fans, with appearances from American actor Morgan Freeman, the young Qatari Ghanim al-Muftah, Lebanese singer Myriam Fares and Jungkook from the Korean pop boy band BTS who sang the FIFA theme song Dreamers.

Morgan also added: “It seems that the world is more divergent and divided, how can several countries and cultures come together if each has its own way?”

We had some great matches these past days with Saudi Arabia🇸🇦 the underdogs who shocked everyone with beating Argentina 2-1 and ruining their unbeaten streak of 36 games.

Japan🇯🇵 also considered as underdogs beat Germany 2-1 and.

Spain🇪🇸 trashed Costa Rica🇨🇷 7-0 with Gavi scoring and being the youngest scorer in World Cup since Pele.
