Body Image And Self-Esteem

Body Image and Self-Esteem

Very often, teenagers find themselves in situations where they are not satisfied and feel unhappy with some part of their looks. It can cause them nervousness, dissatisfaction with themselves and reduce their self-esteem.

The appearance of a negative body image can begin at a surprisingly early age. According to a 2020 research review, 40 to 50 percent of first- and second-graders already don’t like some aspect of their body. When bodies begin changing during puberty, that dissatisfaction can deepen.

This does not happen to all teenagers, but those who find themselves in such a situation, want to make some kind of changes about their body.

We can overcome this problem only if we understand we don’t need a perfect body to have a good body image. When we like our body as it is, we boost our body image and our self-esteem too.

It is wrong to think that our body, which causes us dissatisfaction, will please us more when we get in better shape. It is better for us to start the other way.

If we want to look and feel our best? Here are some tips:

  1. Accept Your Body

-Nobody’s perfect

– Don’t body-shame yourself

– Build a better habit

  1. Like Your Body

-Find things to like about your looks

– Focus on what your body can DO

– Be aware of your body

  1. Take Care of Your Body

– Eat healthy foods

– Get good sleep

– Be active every day

– Keep to a healthy weight

When we like our body, it’s easier to treat it right.

By applying these tips, we will not allow our self-esteem to fall,  and we will not allow the appearance of a negative body image.
