The Best Battle Royale

Now I know calling something the best is always debatable because it comes down to taste but I will tell you what in my opinion is the greatest Battle Royale.

Apex Legends to me is the best Battle Royale to ever grace the screens. When it launched it kinda came out of nowhere, no one was expecting a new game from Respawn Entertainment. But despite its surprising release people still decided to play it because it had many things that its competitors didn’t have such as a respawn system and more movement capability. On its release there were over 50 million players filling up the lobbies for Kings Canyon in only 4 weeks.

Apex now garners over 100 million registered players and over 1 million active players. Now I will list the pros and cons of apex legends as a game.

Pros:

-Movement. Sliding, jumping, running, wall bounces, bunny hops. There is so much movement in this game it’s crazy. And if you do manage to learn the movement you won’t even get hit in battle.

-Graphics and design. Apex’s designs for characters, maps, guns and skins will blow you away. There are some low lights but the vast majority are amazing.

-Characters. The characters are overall balanced. Sure some characters don’t get picked at all and some get picked a lot but that’s just down to how the legend was either nerfed or players just don’t see their abilities as useful as other legends.

Cons:

-Lack of newer content. Respawn Entertainment has dedicated themselves to a no burnout schedule. Now that does save the employees but it kind of stabs them in the back with not being able to put out newer content faster than their competitors.

-Slow pace. Apex is notorious for being slow at everything. It took them over a year to add cross-platform play. And it took them 9 seasons to add a second game mode.

For me, apex is a good game to play with 2 of your buddies. There’s also talks of custom games which will be able to hold up to 60 players. And stay tuned because Season 13 is just around the corner with a new legend “Newcastle” and it is expected that the limited time mode “Control” will become a permanent addition to the game in later seasons.
