TEENS VS. COVID-19

TEENS VS. COVID-19

We’re all probably tired of listening to the devastating, boring and gnarly news about this pandemic that has now lasted for almost two years. And, while it is important to keep up with the current situation, it can also be very hard. I can only speak on behalf of my generation, which the world needs to focus on more, by the way.

The first two weeks school got cancelled, I remember feeling this overwhelming amount of joy, because we would finally get the break we deserved. But then, the situation got worse!

We were stuck in our homes. Our schools were demanding as always, regardless of the situation we were going through. Going outside felt like entering an apocalypse. You could just feel the panic and tension. God forbid someone coughs or sneezes.

My life became Tiktok, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube, Netflix, repeat. Not to mention the constant gut-wrenching thought of losing my teenage years due to a stupid virus that turned the world upside down.

Oh yeah, and as if that wasn’t bad enough, World War 3 is around the corner, just like spring. And if you’re asking how I/we dealt with this drastic change, well, we didn’t!

Speaking for myself, and most of the people my age, this quarantine gave us a lot of time to self-reflect, to figure out who we are, what we like. Of course, some did better, some did worse. I just know that if this pandemic never happened, I wouldn’t be the person I am today, and I like who I am today. So, selfishly, I want to say that everything happens for a reason.
